I love to work. I put a hell of a lot of effort into my job and other peoples’ jobs. I work my arse off and get paid (if I get paid) a small amount to do so while other people don’t do their jobs properly and get paid the same amoutn or more. It’s ridicluous the way the system works in favour of the dishonest, poor working, lying and trecherous.
I like to work. I think, if you don’t work, you have a life; if you have a a very active life or life style, then you are a waste to society really (poor opinion of myself seeing as I only just got myself a job). This is how it’s all clicked into place in my head anyway.
So there ~I am, turning up and hour early for my shift, getting showna tour for about 10 mins then getting uniform checked (great, as it should be as I always dress to the standards asked of me), then straight onto a department to work on. It wasn’t easy – it’s still work after all, but it was “comfortable” to be working under two very friendly and fair supervisor / manager types. We filled, we tooka break, then we filled some more, then tidied everything to look spot on and then we were free to leave. The amount of moaning and complaining about leaving on time, not doing overtime etc etc was unbelieavble. I, myself, wasn’t very tired and seriously would not have cared working for longer, but it’s the employees who don’t want to do the “extra” bit that are rewarded with extra titles, training and possibly even pay. It truly sucks when you’re willing, honest, hard-wrking and can outshine even the skilled employees just due to sheer effort.
But it’s all okay, when everyone gets in the same boat, the leaving boat. Trying to get out today was a hassle; a queue from the cafeteria to the front doors with people trying to sign out. You can have a friendly chat with fellow employees, observe other people in their rush or just sit back and take it all (or nothing) in while listening to your music. But when one of your “collegues” decides to pass you in the queue, say they’ve been in the queue beforehand, and then be stood up for by another colleage who doesn’t mind, it’s when you geta bit peeved…
I know I could feel my blood boiling because of soem people, who really do not deserve to be given the chances that they have. If society was harder on scum then it wouldn’t be as shit.
And then, when you’re trying to deal with problems which would not exist had the employer known what was going on the first place; and you get blamed fornot helping “enough” to sort the problem out, you just feel even more stepped on.
Just feel like breaking something sometimes.
Oh, and one more thing. They told the remainging people in the queue to just go on home without signing out and they would be paid until the 10 pm that they had worked. I asked if I could sign out and was told that everyone else had gone home and that I would be paid until 10pm. I asked if I was “allowed” to sign out or that I was being told that I couldn’t sign out and I was told I can sign if I want to, but I’d be paid until 10pm. Now, the time was 10.30 pm, I’d been working an extra hour of my own choice because I want it to succeed, I enjoy working for something that deserves it (although I really do not think that anyone, especially the big bossess deserve any of this).
It just really becomes less worth what you’re working for when you’re, not only unappreciated, but actually treated as if you aren’t doing something right, when it is really not the case.
It’s ridiculous how the system works. I feel like I’m in the same boat as you are. I hope we get out of it some day!
Me too. So unfair!
