Happy 26th birthday cuz! Typing this now makes it the right day too which is good. And literally being my cousin is also helpful (see cuz above). 13 of us? No Pimms o’clock. Lots of balls flying about though and some ma-hoosive size 20 bowling shoes (which it was not so funny saying were my size as it was for youz guys).Ordering drinks and food at the start was a good idea. Do that if you go to Hollywood bowl. Thank me later.
So, we start. People worry about there being a lot (4 I think) of the guys’ team having initials beginning with an E and therefore making it difficult to tell whose go it was. Luckily, it was noticed that names were displayed underneath when it was someone’s go, so we can start…
I’ve got big balls! Yeah, I needed a lighter one, but my fingers got stuck in the “medium” size, so (large) it was. This didn’t matter though because everybody would use the pink ball (lightest and easiest to strike with). That was the first round though, the next one I used my brother’s suggestion, maroon. And also in the first round, I sucked. Only a 70-something score if that, leaving me last out of both teams! I’m supposed to be the one with beginner’s luck who gets suckier as time goes on.
Less than half the drinks arrive during round one. Game continues. Game finishes, we wait for cups -_-. Then we get food and cups at the same time. Mix-up with whose is whose burger (even though I was the only one with the peri peri chicken one?), and after the majority has eaten… the sauces show, ketchup, mayo, mustard. A lot of good that will do now I know (lol). So the next game begins… then is reset and begins again (someone away, turn taken, upset, turn re-taken by themself, not upset anymore, never upset, just wanted turn, too much info in bracket, does not compute, head explosion).
Then someone’s pizza arrives… WHAT! I know, just a bit late. Game better this time for me, got a couple of half strikes and strikes. Then another cousin’s beer (ordered at the start of round one) finally gets to his hand (lol). He was pissed, and not from the drink.
Finishing off the game, 2 bowlers and child down, 2 new bowlers up, I end on a nice 100 (something Wii bowling told me I could do better than). A fourth place overall, better than the last place of the first round…
A change of shoes (even though I was oddly colour-coordinated with them), and onto some arcade just a few steps away. A ride on a bike giving me another fourth place (better than another cousin’s eighth, and joint with ma papi (never used that before in my life!), then to watching some buses racing (it was a betting game, not actual buses), and it was time to go.
Happy birthday cuz! You keep the inflatable hammer.
